Darts is a sport which is played with the help of one board and arrows. Dartboard is a circular board which is fixed on the wall. The indicators are directed towards the dart board in such a manner that these arrows hit the dartboard nearer to center.
Dartboard which is qualitatively sounder is made up of sisal whereas less expensive boards are made up of cork. Sisal fibers are derived from the solid central trunk which is known as agave. They are considered as most suitable material for making dart boards.
How to clean a dartboard?
After completing some of the years of service, dart boards generally get obsolete or worn out due to normal wear and tear. In such case, a front part of the dart boards gets faded, due to which the three sections of the darts become invisible, which would refrain the player from setting and hitting the right part of the dart board. But this does not mean that the situation has arisen where it is very much necessary to replace the dart board. Dart boards become reusable, once they are cleaned. There are five methods which are generally used to clean the darts boards.
Turning the dart board
Firstly, it is recommended to detach the number ring from the dart board and then rotate the dartboard by few segments. This activity shall be done in short intervals of time. To increase the useful life of the dart board.

Secondly, cleansing of dart board can be done by using a vacuum cleaner. It shall be noted that the suction pressure of a vacuum cleaner should not be high. Vacuum cleaner minutely cleans the pores of the dart board and increase the visibility of the sections. Moreover, it makes the surface smooth so that friction of the surface is increased the darts get easily stick to the dart board. It is the easiest and less time-consuming method of dart cleansing. At the same time, it is considered an unreliable source of cleaning the board, as most of the vacuum pumps do not have the option to control suction pressure.
Soft cloth cleansing
Soft cloth shall be soaked in water, and then excessive water in the fabric shall be realized by twisting the fabric tightly. The soft material then shall be rubbed against the surface of the dart. This process shall be continued for at least five minutes. This process shall be repeated on a regular basis, to increase the usable life of the dart board.
While petrol cleansing
Soak natural cotton in white petrol and apply it on the surface of a whiteboard. While gasoline is a substance while is rarely used, but it can be proclaimed that it is one of the best sources of cleaning the dart board. White petrol evaporates very quickly when it comes into contact with air. White gasoline on being applied to the dartboard takes away all the dirt and smoothen the surface which in turn increases the friction on the dart board. It not only cleans the surface but it can provide a luster to the dart board which makes it appear so shiny as if it is newly purchased.
Liquid wood polisher
The main reason why bards get fade away and have holes in them is just that sisal fibers lose their moisture. Along with humidity they also lose their springing back ability after being compressed aside by a dart. Polishing the surface helps the dart in gaining back their lost moisture. After cleaning the surface, keep the cover out in the sunlight for a whole day. Next day, insert a toothpick into the board to ensure the board has gained back it lost moisture. If the toothpick comes out dry, then apply the same procedure until it comes out moist.
There are so many methods of cleaning the dart boards, but the above-explained way is considered as the most straightforward and convenient methods as these methods are generally based on ingredients which are usually available in our home. Further, it is to be cautiously noted that the surface of dartboard shall never come into contact with any liquids other than the fluids mentioned above. As when these liquids come into contact with sisal fibers, it would increase the swelling of the surface of the dart board which would inevitably affect the friction.
