The game of pickleball is not for everyone, but everyone can play better using the seven tips I have shared in this article.

Learning the game of pickleball is sometimes not easy for beginners, especially when it comes to competition with players who have been in the game for many years.

I have prepared these simple and elementary tips to help a beginner like you understand how you can play the pickleball better. so lets start this article pickleball tips for beginners.

With continuous and steady improvements, you can become a pro in pickleball.

Some people say that using graphite pickleball paddles could boost your pickleball performance, but I think it’s all about being ready and taking advantage of your opponent’s weaknesses.

If you are not improving, even a little bit, you will start to lose interests in the pickleball game but I don’t want you to reach that extent. That’s why I prepared these seven quick tips for beginners to play better pickleball.

I convinced that anyone can improve and even become a better pickleball player, but you must commit yourself to follow the rules and tips of the game as you will learn here.

Usually, beginner pickleball players make a mistake of using too much power. Ideally, you don’t have to be strong to be a better pickleball player.

As a beginner pickleball player, you can start by taking a pickleball video-based course. This is designed for new players who are thinking of starting their hobbies are pickleball players.

Here are my seven quick pickleball tips for beginners pickleball players.

  1. Avoid Overuse of Power

Many beginner players think that overuse of power makes them better players. They punch the ball too hard.

Well, while this is what happens when playing volleyball game or Ping pong game when it comes to the pickleball game hitting too hard gets most of the shots in the net.

In pickleball, you must exercise control.

  1. Stay in a Ready and Right Court Position

When playing pickleball, you must always stay in a ready position. You must be capable of returning shots when they come. For that reason, you must keep your knees bent and shoulders squared. Study say lot of people not able to keep their knee properly because of before knee ligament injuries.

Also, once you return serve, position yourself in the center of the court and stay in a ready position. In fact, you should do that when you are at the kitchen.

  1. Concentrate on Preventing Errors

When it comes to the pickleball game, consistency is key, and to win, you must prevent as many errors as possible. Ensure you are getting your return serve deep and consistently with the least errors as possible.

Getting deep consistent serves can increase the chances of success on your side. When returning serve, just ensure you are not making errors. Don’t target low probability winners when playing for your first time. Focus on hitting bounds. You can target at the middle of the court when unsure. Shots placed down the middle of the court have fewer errors and can make your opponent get confused on who is to return serve.

  1. Be Ready to Run

Although you are advised not to use too much power when playing pickleball, you must be ready to move. Similar to other athletic sports, pickleball involves running here and there.

Moving will help you to get balls back in play with ease. Just ensure to chase the ball always and not stand like you are in a queue in your local grocery.

  1. Move Up Fast

A mistake most beginner pickleball players make is to stay back deep even when their opponents are not making them stay back. You should always be ready to attack the net and get the upper hand.

Unfortunately, many new players hang back in the middle which is the worst place for a pickleball player.

  1. Spot Opportunities Fast

While in the game, always watch the gaps and spaces on your opponents’ side of the court. When you find one of your opponents positioned at the net and the other at the baseline, you have a good opportunity to place your shots. Ensure you do not give your opponent this opportunity on your side.

  1. Talk

You will need to be fast to spot opportunities, but you should talk with your partner as well.  Get used to words like “Mine” “Yours” to avoid colliding with your partner.

Some of these pickleball tips for beginners are obvious, but for a new player, the chances of getting caught up in the game are high. Ensure to observe these few tips while playing. It takes a few practice and consistency and you will get used to them.
